Built Around
Substance Over Style
Novalith was founded on a straightforward premise: that sustainability work should produce something concrete — not just a report that sits on a shelf.
← Back to HomeNovalith — A Consulting Practice Built for This Moment
Novalith was established in Kuala Lumpur in response to a clear gap: Malaysian organisations were being asked to demonstrate sustainability commitments — by regulators, by investors, by supply chain partners — but many didn't have a structured way to get there. Generic advice wasn't helping. What was needed was practical, scoped work that produced real outputs.
We focus specifically on sustainability integration, ESG reporting readiness, and environmental operations. These aren't peripheral concerns anymore — they sit at the intersection of regulatory compliance, stakeholder management, and operational efficiency. Our approach is to engage with each client as a thinking partner rather than a report writer.
Every engagement begins with a genuine effort to understand the organisation's starting point, its constraints, and what a successful outcome actually looks like. We then design the work accordingly — not according to a template.
Our Mission
To help Malaysian organisations make genuine, measurable progress on sustainability — through work that is clearly defined, honestly delivered, and practically useful.
Our Values
- Clarity first. We explain our reasoning. We don't obscure it behind jargon.
- Scope integrity. We don't expand an engagement beyond what's needed. We do what we say, then we stop.
- Honest assessment. We tell clients what we find, including things that aren't easy to hear.
- Local context. We understand the Malaysian regulatory environment, stakeholder landscape, and business culture.

Our Professional Standards
Every engagement is conducted with clear protocols around confidentiality, quality, and client communication.
Confidentiality Protocol
All engagements begin with a signed NDA. Client data, internal documents, and findings are handled with strict access controls and used only for the purposes agreed.
Defined Scope of Work
Before any engagement starts, we provide a written scope document that specifies deliverables, timeline, data requirements, and communication checkpoints. Nothing starts without sign-off.
Structured Deliverables
Each service produces a documented output that follows a consistent internal quality standard — reviewed internally before it reaches the client, with a walkthrough session included.
Regular Communication
We provide structured progress updates at agreed intervals. If the scope changes or a complication arises, we communicate it immediately — not at the end of the engagement.
Regulatory Awareness
We track developments in Bursa Malaysia ESG requirements, the Securities Commission's Sustainability Roadmap, and relevant international frameworks that affect Malaysian companies.
Continuous Improvement
After every engagement we request structured feedback. The findings inform how we develop our methods, our tools, and our team's knowledge going forward.
Sustainability Consulting in the Malaysian Context
Malaysian organisations face a distinct set of sustainability pressures. Bursa Malaysia's enhanced sustainability reporting requirements — introduced progressively since 2015 and continuing to evolve — mean that listed companies are already operating within a defined ESG disclosure framework. Unlisted businesses, meanwhile, are increasingly subject to supply chain due diligence requirements from international partners and customers who themselves operate under reporting obligations.
At Novalith, we've built our services to address these pressures at different levels of organisational readiness. The Sustainability Integration Advisory is suited to organisations that have not yet developed a formal sustainability approach. The ESG Reporting Readiness service is designed for companies that recognise a disclosure obligation is coming and want to prepare without building internal capability from scratch. The Green Operations Review addresses the practical, operational dimension — identifying where environmental improvement is feasible and where it makes business sense.
Our work draws on knowledge of the Malaysian regulatory environment, the Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Guide, and internationally recognised frameworks including GRI, SASB, and TCFD. We operate from Kuala Lumpur and work with clients across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
